🔤 Letters & ABCs for Kids

Children usually learn letter names first, then letter sounds, then start blending sounds into words. Sing the ABCs, point out letters on signs and packets, and use the worksheets below to practise one letter at a time.

Tips for parents and teachers

  • Start with the letters in your child's name.
  • Say the sound as well as the name: B says /b/.
  • Trace letters in sand, flour or shaving foam.
  • Play I spy with beginning sounds.
  • Read alphabet books together every day.
